MWIR LEDs available in 3100nm, 3700nm, 3900nm, 4100nm, and 4300nm peak wavelengths
A Nine-Wavelength Multichip Emitter in a Single Compact C.O.B. Package
Integrates wavelengths from 365 nm to 1200 nm in a compact C.O.B. (Chip-On-Board) package for spectroscopy, medical and chemical analysis, and biofluorescence applications
LATHAM, NEW YORK – July 31, 2026 – Optrans America Corporation today announced the HNMCC-9, a multichip emitter that integrates nine emission wavelengths ranging from ultraviolet to near-infrared in a single compact package.
The HNMCC-9 combines nominal peak emission wavelengths of 365 nm, 460 nm, 527 nm, 570 nm, 630 nm, 780 nm, 850 nm, 940 nm, and 1200 nm in a 0.3-inch-square FR-4 chip-on-board package. It is designed for analytical and measurement equipment requiring multiple emission wavelengths within a limited mounting area.
Spectroscopy, medical and chemical analysis, and biofluorescence applications often require multiple emission wavelengths to be selected according to the target material and measurement conditions.
Conventional designs using separate LEDs for each wavelength can increase the size of the optical source assembly and complicate the optical system.
By integrating nine emitting elements in a package measuring approximately 7.62 mm square, the HNMCC-9 helps reduce the size of multiwavelength light sources and simplifies optical system design.
The HNMCC-9 integrates the following nine nominal peak emission wavelengths in a single package:
This configuration covers a broad spectral range from ultraviolet and visible light through near-infrared wavelengths.
The nine LED chips are integrated in a 0.3-inch x 0.3-inch, approximately 7.62 mm x 7.62 mm, FR-4 chip-on-board package.
Compared with systems using multiple individually packaged LEDs, this compact configuration reduces the space required for the light source and is suitable for portable analytical instruments and compact sensing equipment.
The HNMCC-9 uses a common-cathode configuration with separate connection terminals for each wavelength.
This allows the equipment designer to select and activate individual wavelengths as required, supporting wavelength switching and optical measurements using multiple wavelength combinations.
In addition to the standard configuration, Optrans America can support custom combinations of emission wavelengths and optical output levels.
Customized multichip emitters can be developed based on the target application, detection method, and spectral sensitivity of the corresponding photodetector.
