From the Challenge of Optical Technologies to Global Manufacturing Excellence
1
1987
Foundation & Start
Founded in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo. Optrans began by manufacturing LEDs for medical oxygen concentrators, marking the start of its journey in optical technologies.
2
1989–1990s
Growth
Relocated its head office and factory to Noborito, Tama-ku, Kawasaki, and established an LED mass-production system. Development advanced in point-source LEDs, high-performance photodiodes, and automated equipment.
3
1994
Global Expansion
Established Optrans America in New York, USA, creating a structure to provide Japanese optoelectronic technologies to overseas customers.
4
2000s
Expanded Technology Fields
Established a new materials research base in Kurokawa and introduced GaAs and InP technologies, expanding into emitters, detectors, materials, and custom solutions.
